Contest Rules

Last updated: November 3, 2026

1. Who Can Enter

Anyone with a Rivals account can play free (demo) games. Real money games have extra requirements:

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must pass identity verification (KYC) through our ID-check partner.
  • You must be in a country where we offer real money games. We check the country on your ID and the country you connect from when you deposit, join a paid game or withdraw. If we can't confirm your country, the action is refused until you complete ID verification or contact support.
  • You must not be self-excluded, and your deposit limits apply.
  • One account per person.

2. Entering a Game

  • Each game shows its entry fee, starting balance, player limits, instruments, lot sizes, prize split and platform fee before you join.
  • For real money games the entry fee is taken from your Rivals wallet when you join. The highest entry fee for any game is $10,000.
  • Demo games are free and use virtual balances. Coins won in demo games have no cash value and can never be exchanged for money or prizes.
  • A game needs its minimum number of players by the start time. If it doesn't get them, it is cancelled and every entry fee goes back to your wallet.

3. Leaving or Cancelled Games

  • You can leave a game any time before it starts. Your entry fee goes straight back to your wallet.
  • Once a game has started you can't leave it or get your entry fee back.
  • If a game is cancelled for any reason (not enough players, a start delayed by a technical problem, or by us), every entry fee is refunded to your wallet.

4. How Trading Works

  • Every player starts with the same virtual starting balance. No real trades are placed with a broker.
  • Prices come from a live market feed. Buys open at the ask price and close at the bid price; sells open at the bid and close at the ask.
  • You can only trade the instruments and lot sizes allowed in that game, and only while the game is live. Trades can't be opened without a recent price.
  • Stop-loss and take-profit orders close your trade at the market price when they trigger. If the price jumps past your level, you get the real price at that moment, not your level.
  • If your losses grow too large for your open trades (your margin level falls to the stop-out level), your worst losing trade is closed automatically, then the next, until you are back above the level.
  • When the game ends, all open trades are closed automatically at the market price.

5. Ranking and Ties

  • Players are ranked by profit or loss: final balance minus starting balance, after every trade is closed. The highest profit wins.
  • A player who makes no trades finishes with a profit of $0.
  • Players with exactly the same result (to the cent) share the same place. Tied players add up the prizes for the places they occupy and split them equally.

6. Prizes and Payouts

  • The prize pool is every entry fee added together. The platform fee shown on the game is taken from the pool first; the rest is paid to players.
  • The prize split (for example 60% / 30% / 10%) is shown on the game before you join and always adds up to 100%.
  • If fewer players finish than there are paid places, the unused shares are split among the players who are paid, so the whole pool is always paid out.
  • Prizes are paid into your Rivals wallet automatically when the game is settled, usually within a few minutes of the end. You'll get a notification with your place.
  • If a result can't be settled correctly (for example no price is available to close a trade), payment waits until it can be, or the game is cancelled and refunded.

7. Withdrawals

  • You can withdraw your wallet balance after identity verification.
  • Some withdrawals are reviewed by our team before they are sent, including larger amounts and withdrawals to a new address. This can add processing time.
  • We may hold or refuse a withdrawal if we suspect fraud or a breach of these rules.

8. Fair Play and Disqualification

To keep games fair, we may disqualify a player, cancel their results, withhold prizes, or close their account if they:

  • Use more than one account, or let someone else use theirs.
  • Work with other players to fix a result (for example taking opposite trades to pass money between accounts).
  • Use bots, scripts or automated tools.
  • Exploit a bug, a pricing error or a feed problem.
  • Give false information during identity verification, or use a VPN or other tool to hide their country.
  • Harass or abuse other players in chat or voice.

If we cancel a result, prizes may be re-assigned to the other players or the game may be refunded. Decisions on fair play are final.

9. Technical Problems

If prices, the platform or a game are affected by a technical fault, we may pause, cancel or re-settle the games affected. A game the system starts more than a short time after its start time (for example after an outage) is cancelled and refunded rather than played short.

10. Changes and Questions

We may update these rules. The version on this page applies to games that start after the update. These rules sit alongside our Terms of Service. Questions? Email [email protected].
